Therapy for Adults Navigating Change
This Is the Starting Point for a Better Life
I help adults like you navigate life changes, work through relationship struggles, and feel more grounded, clear, and in control. I meet you where you are and guide you forward with support, insight, and complete confidentiality.

A Different Kind of Therapist
Active, Supportive, and Always Focused On Your Growth
You deserve more than someone who just listens and nods. I’m an engaged therapist who shows up fully and works with you in a collaborative, honest way. I bring a direct but compassionate approach to every session.
Together, we’ll explore what’s holding you back and begin building a path that reconnects you to who you are and who you want to become. Therapy with me isn’t passive. It’s intentional, present, and grounded in your real life.
I help clients explore not only what’s happening now, but where those patterns may have started. Often, we discover unrecognized childhood trauma or early relational wounds that still shape how you move through the world today.
You Don’t Have to Figure This Out Alone
Life Can Feel Messy, Even When Everything Looks Fine From The Outside
Does this sound like you?
You feel stuck in a relationship that drains you, and you’re not sure how to break the cycle
You keep repeating the same patterns and wonder where they began
You’re starting to see how old wounds still affect your choices today
You look composed on the outside, but inside you feel lost and exhausted
You want something more for your life, but you can’t quite see what that looks like yet
Support for Romantic, Family, and Boundary Issues
Most of the Time, It Comes Back to Relationships
Whether you’re healing from a breakup, working through a complicated parent relationship, or trying to change the way you show up with others, therapy gives you space to understand your patterns and shift them. I work with individuals, not couples, to help you feel stronger and gain greater control over your choices. You don’t have to stay in survival mode. Things can get better.
What Changes When You Have the Right Support
Start Feeling More Like Yourself Again
Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about reconnecting with the parts of yourself you may have lost touch with over time. Many of my clients leave sessions feeling more present, more self-aware, and more able to respond to life rather than react to it. We’ll work to understand your patterns, strengthen your relationships, and begin releasing the emotional weight you’ve been carrying for too long. The right support can help you move through life with steadiness and confidence.
Meet Angie Douma, LMFT
Grounded in Integrity, Experience, and Privacy

Welcome,
You’ve already taken a meaningful step just by being here.
For over a decade, I’ve helped people work through emotional pain and develop stronger, more supportive connections in their lives. My approach blends clinical training with real-world experience, allowing me to meet clients with clarity, care, and a deep understanding of how personal history can shape the way we relate to ourselves and others.
Before becoming a therapist, I worked in the high-pressure entertainment industry at Saturday Night Live and later launched a women-focused boutique. I went on to earn my Master’s in Psychology and began my clinical work by providing school-based therapy to teens in an ethnically and economically diverse Los Angeles district. That early experience, working closely with students and families navigating real-life challenges, continues to influence how I show up with clients today. I bring presence, respect, and a deep understanding of the complexity people carry.
Wherever you are in your journey, you don’t have to navigate it alone.
Your First Step, Made Simple
Here’s How We Begin
Take the First Step
Starting therapy can feel uncertain, and it often takes courage to take the first step. I’ll guide you through each part of the process, beginning with our first session.
We’ll clarify what’s bringing you in, explore what you’d like to change, and uncover what might be getting in the way. Sometimes the root cause runs deeper than expected. Together, we’ll identify clear goals and map out a path that supports real, lasting change.
Book Your First Session
Receive a welcome message with what to expect, how to prepare, and a simple intake form to complete before we meet.
Clarify What You Want to Work On
We’ll explore the concerns bringing you in and the areas of your life you want to strengthen, shift, or better understand.
Do the Work That Leads to Change
Together we’ll break patterns, build insight, and apply tools that support meaningful, lasting transformation.
Ready for a New Chapter
You Don’t Have to Stay Where You Are
Reaching out for therapy doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re ready for something to shift. Many of my clients come to me in moments of transition or crisis, unsure of exactly what they need but certain they don’t want to keep feeling the way they do. If that sounds like you, I’m here. Together, we can begin the work of helping you feel more steady, more connected, and more in control of your life.
